Yesterday morning we left Eugene at 5:30 on Amtrak, yes that’s A.M. Ride was wonderfully relaxing but unfortunately none of us could nap. Thankfully we each are travelling with travel mugs so had lots of tea.
Arrived in Seattle a little after noon and headed out from the recently restored (and beautiful) train station to find lunch. Each of us have large Samsonite and backpack to schlepp. Found yummy Mediterranean restaurant. Was challenge finding taxi large enough to get us to Pier for Victoria Clipper. Boat ride was uneventful, met very nice young man from Iran. He was born when both parents in prison; interesting background. Studying in Canada now.
Today slept in, ha! Up at 6, breakfast, assembled bikes, rode to Butschart Gardens. It is the most astonishing place, so many of the plants are mega-sized. 55 acres of groomed flowers, bushes, and trees. The best view is the sunken garden.
Biking to the garden took bike path most of way, back the Interurban rail trail, total of 30 miles today. Finished with great Indian dinner.

Thx for the site addr! Sounds like a fab trip. Butchart Gardens are spectacular! I’ll look forward to ‘riding’ along 🙂 Be safe, -E.
