Reminds me of Alpine resorts in Europe. Very charming and cozy. Staying at small B&B, only 9 rooms. Have met people from Germany and Australia here. Assembled bikes after breakfast and wandered around town and then out to Lake Minnewanka. We lucked in to riding the gentle slope out, riding up 400ft and then one big downhill on return. We are surrounded by 10 -12k mt ranges covered in snow and have seen several glaciers. Long horned sheep on roads.
Just like in Victoria where we went to the Empress Hotel, here in Banff we rode to the Banff Springs Hotel, another heritage site. We roamed the hallways, large conference rooms, and terrace. Everyone was so friendly we did not feel like intruders even though we were not hotel guests.
