Drove north from Banff to Jasper. Before leaving the area, stopped at Vermillion Lake since we heard people had seen a grizzly mom with cubs the day before. No luck, but beautiful setting.
Stopped at Ice Fields to see one of many glaciers along the way. This one showed it had receded over 1/2 mile in 100 years.
Then went to Athabasca Falls which were very impressive since very wide river squeezes into narrow canyon, made for very turbulent and noisy falls.
Walked around Jasper and again shopped for breakfast and diner, we have kitchette.
