C’est la vie en Montreal

20 Jun

Wonderful – just love this very walkable city; with its beautiful highrise offices and old town buildings from anywhere in the 17 – early 19th century. Found fantastic Polish restaurant for dinner near ‘old town’. Yummy pierogi’, fillled with mushrooms and cabbage and some with cheese, served with sour cream. Pickled herring with sauerkraut. Joe had kielbasa and Polish beer. Chocolate cake for dessert. Oh, I forgot to mention the hazelnut gelato as we set out on our walk!

Going backwards, we took bus in Ottawa to train station. 2 hr ride, met very nice gentleman who explained the french speaking people may come across as abrupt but are really very nice. Our hotel in Montreal is 1/2 mile from station so decided to hoof it.
